BEAUTYCON LONDON 2015 | #BeautyConLondon

Saturday, May 23, 2015

I have been a huge fan of the community of beauty and fashion creators on YouTube for a few years now (I often say 'YouTube is my TV' - sad, but definitely true) so when my dear friend Charlotte offered me her +1 ticket to BeautyCon London, I could hardly say no!

Charlotte had won tickets yesterday in a competition hosted by fashion blogger Leanne Lim Walker in partnership with Liz Earle. Whom we were completely spoiled by today, we were on a guest list (I have never felt more cool in my entire life) and we were able to meet Leanne, along with bloggers Yanin Namasonthi (from idressmyself) and Tasha Green as well as being treated to lots of Liz Earle products, in honour of 20 years of their Naturally Active Cleanse and Polish, Hot Cloth Cleansers  .
I still don't know how I feel about the whole boat situation..

We also jumped in the meet and greet line for MsRosieBea, AnchalMUAMUA and ThePrinceofVanity who have all previously taken part in DailyMix's Beauty Bootcamp competition. These guys were so lovely and we were actually able to talk to them for a little bit and have our photos taken.

We were also able to meet Claire Marshall and Amelia Liana a little later in the day - Claire is one of my favourite YouTubers, she's so effortlessly cool, has incredible style and I really wish I knew how to edit videos like her (not to mention her cat Bruce and her gorgeous apartment (shall I stop before this gets any more stalkerish?!) Anyway, my nerves got the better of me and I didn't actually get to talk to Claire and we were taking our photo and leaving before I could even process what was happening. But it was lovely all the same and Amelia found 'Shannon and Charlotte' very cute and amusing.

Whilst walking around the expo centre we also bummed into Niomi Smart and one half of the make up queens that make up Pixiwoo, Sam Chapman - both of these lovely women are even more beautiful in the flesh and so willing to give them your time to talk to you and have a photo even if they're supposed to be somewhere else.

feel like the Big Friendly Giant for the entire day)

I also got the chance to catch a few snippets of the various panels and Q&A sessions that were taking place on stage throughout the day. One of my favourites was the 'Beautiful Inside + Out' which featured Estee Lalonde, Lily Pebbles, VivviannaDoesMakeUp, Lexi A-N, Kaushal Beauty and Sammi Maria. It was so refreshing hearing these women empowering themselves and one another and I really enjoyed hearing them talk about their own beauty inspirations and how they started up their own blogs/channels.

We waited around a little longer for Louise Pentland's (A Sprinkler of Glitters) Q&A but unfortunately she couldn't make it due to be unwell, I send her all the well wishes in the world!

In between the meet and greets and panels, we wondered around the booths in the expo, there weren't many brands but I think that's mostly down to the fact that this is the first ever BeautyCon to be held in London. But all the same, I managed to pick up a few bits for myself and big sister from Tarte, NYX, Red Carpet Manicure and Crown Brushes.

I have had an amazing day at BeautyCon, I have never felt so welcomed at an event before, every member of staff or security I came into contact with were so polite and helpful. And every Youtuber/Blogger I met, exceeded all expectations I ever had of meeting them. I've come away feeling so inspired to continue with my own blog, to have a little more confidence in myself and to push harder to achieve the goals I have set myself.

Of course we took advantage of the photobooth!

I could not be more thankful to Charlotte for inviting me along and for Liz Earle providing us with the tickets and treating us so well.

Until next year, BeautyCon
